Multiple dates for each webinar

Hi Brandon,

My client intends to sell multiple instances of her webinars via Woo/GoTo. Is it possible to do this easily with your plugin? From what i can tell, we have to duplicate each product for each instance (e.g. if My Amazing Webinar is offered Feb 13, Feb 18, & Feb 29 – then I have 3 different products all with the same name), rather than enter available dates into one master product. That of course means having a bloated catalog, and the requirement to update multiple product entries if the description needs to be adjusted.

Thoughts on that?

Also, if she chooses to have one of these available as a pre-recorded webinar, how would she identify that one instance as the pre-recorded option (say, she offered it 3 times last month)?

  • I guess another way of phrasing this – is there an option for Dates Offered to be a product variant, rather than a different product?

  • @michelle – Are you referring to Series functionality? If so, this is pending on our end and is not currently available in the plugin. http://www.gotowp.com/support/thread/webinar-series/

If this is not what you are referring to, could you perhaps post a screenshot from your GoToWebinar dashboard showing which feature in Citrix’s control panel, you are wanting replicated in plugin?

Thanks and look forward to discussing more with you. Have a nice day!

  • Thanks, Brandon. Not a series at all.  Not Legalese Part 1, 2, 3 and 4. But Legalese 101 is offered on March 2, March 19, and June 22.

If I’m understanding the way your plugin works, each discreet event has to be a unique product. So, in the above example, I have a product Legalese-Mar-2; Legalese-mar-19, and Legalese-June-22.   So if i offer that same webinar 10 times a year, I have 10 products with almost the same name.

The alternative I’d like is to see One master class (Legalese 101) with the option to enter multiple events (maybe as variants?) to that which pulls dates.

Making sense?  In GTW, these are all just unique events – seemingly not connected there other than just duplicated and then dates changed.

  • Yes, that makes sense. Thanks for the clarification. As you point out, that is the issue inside GTW as well – i.e. that they are duplicated and standalone items in their system as well. We did begin discussing this morning a possible way to make this a bit easier to manage on the plugin side and have an idea that at first glance appears promising, but it is likely a few months off at best. We will also keep an eye on the API and if Citrix updates first, we will update plugin to match. Thanks again for the clarification and please let me know if you have any other questions.

    Have a nice day.

  • This is great, Brandon. I figured that the limitations in Citrix were part of the problem.

I’d love to be updated if/when you’re able to get at a solution. Thanks!
